Remove Save in password manager” option in GPG pinentry

To remove the option of Save in password manager” when the pinentry shows up, add no-allow-external-cache to gpg-agent.conf.

$ echo "no-allow-external-cache" >> ~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf

If gpg-agent.conf does not exist, the above command will create the file.

Also, add the following to your .bashrc:

# gpg-agent
GPG_TTY=$(tty)
export GPG_TTY

When you have edited these two files, run:

$ gpg-connect-agent reloadagent /bye

See the man page of gpg-agent for more explanation.

I do self-funded research and I'm writing a book.

> What's the book about?

About technologies and agency.

Meaning, technologies can foster agency. No doubt. But I am also asking:

Can usage of technologies give us a sense of empowerment while in fact undermining our abilities?

I posted a summary of the prologue on the homepage: https://yctct.com/
