Change margins when producing pdf files with Pandoc

When converting on the command line, add:

-V geometry:margin=1in

It is also possible to add specifications at the top of your file. From the manual:

option for geometry package, e.g.  margin=1in; repeat for multiple options:

---
geometry:
- top=30mm
- left=20mm
- heightrounded
...
