Follow a YouTube channel with RSS (without a Google/YouTube account)

You don’t need a Google/YouTube account to follow a YouTube channel.

Each YouTube channel has a RSS feed.

How to find the RSS feed of a YouTube channel?

You can compose the RSS feed of a YouTube channel by appending its channel ID (i.e. the series of numbers and characters present in the URL of a channel homepage) to this URL:

www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=CHANNEL_ID

Example

Below is an example for a YouTube channel you would want to follow.

This is the URL of a YouTube channel you want to follow:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB_WkcAGmlt5lOW1uHCvemQ

So, the URL of its RSS feed is:

www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=UCB_WkcAGmlt5lOW1uHCvemQ

You can copy this link in your RSS reader to follow the RSS feed of that channel.

What is RSS?

RSS allows you to track and access updates of a webpage, a the page of a YouTube channel for instance, via a RSS reader. You can download an application of a RSS reader on your phone or laptop. Read this blog post if you need more information about how to use RSS.

I do self-funded research and I'm writing a book.

> What's the book about?

About technologies and agency.

Meaning, technologies can foster agency. No doubt. But I am also asking:

Can usage of technologies give us a sense of empowerment while in fact undermining our abilities?

I posted a summary of the prologue on the homepage: https://yctct.com/
