Simple calculator on the command line

The outcome is this:

$ c 3*5
15

First download the programme bc:

$ sudo apt install bc

Then copy this function so that you only have to type c followed by your computation:

# Calculator
function c() { printf "%s\n" "$@" | bc -l; }

You can paste this function into ~/.bashrc, or as a script in its own file under ~/bin.

To start using the function, you need to run $ bash.
